Video of the team of architects and the scenographer at the Cité des Vins sites in Chablis and Mâcon

By the end of 2018, two key steps had been completed in the creation process for the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne: The nomination of the architects for the Chablis and Mâcon sites, and the appointment of a scenographer for the two projects.

Through this seven-minute video, you will be able put faces to the names of these teams who are working enthusiastically alongside the BIVB to design these new wine-tourism spaces dedicated to the Bourgogne region, its wines, and its Climats.

They will explain their roles and will present their strategies in terms of the architecture and scenography of each site :

In Mâcon, RBC Architecture and ACL Associés will be working on the unity and visibility of the building thanks to a powerful external symbol, namely a screw from a wine press with curved shapes that will link the existing buildings.

In Chablis, Atelier Correia Architectes & Associés is proposing a contemporary extension to the 12th-century Cellier of the Abbey of Pontigny, to showcase this historic construction. Providing a link between past, present, and future, the site will also include a public space outside, which will incite visitors to walk around and explore the “Climats Trail”.

Studio Adeline Rispal’s mission is to:

  • Transpose the key messages of Bourgogne wines and the Climats through scenographic spaces
  • Dramatize the interior spaces through a concept involving different strata
  • Bring the visitor experience to life
  • Offer tools to encourage communication and exchange
