Creation of the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne non-profit and the appointment of its director
On 13 June 2019, the presidents of the BIVB, the CAVB, and the FNEB met to sign the articles of association for the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne non-profit. This founding act marked the creation of the operating structure for the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne network in Beaune, Chablis, and Mâcon.
The choice to manage the structure through a non-profit organization that is affiliated to the BIVB addresses two key issues: Managing the content of the message and being able to enjoy patronage.
This choice will have an impact on the activity and economic model of the future sites.
Their activity will have cultural, heritage-related, and educational purposes, in particular drawing on the recognition by UNESCO of the Climats and the history of the Bourgogne winegrowing region.
This new management structure will be run by the newly-appointed Olivier Le Roy, a graduate of Sciences Po in Paris, who has held a range of different roles in consulting, institutional management, business development, real estate project management, and management.
