Deposit of the building permit Cité des vins & des Climats de Bourgogne in Mâcon

Doing good luck against bad luck, the City of Burgundy wines and climates took advantage of the constraints linked to the health crisis to deepen its design work. The result is an optimized and very attractive project for the future city in Mâcon. Initially installed astride the Maison des Vins du BIVB and the Maison Mâconnaise des Vins, the final version will finally refocus its offer on the local of the Interprofession only. Indeed, after careful consideration to remove the structural and organizational constraints related to the two buildings, the best solution was finally to adjust the project. However, professionals in the wine sector so far at the Maison des Vins du BIVB will keep a dedicated space on the 1st floor of the building.

The rework has highlighted significant improvement opportunities. Thanks to an extensive layout on two floors, the city now benefits from increased comfort for the permanent exhibition, particularly in terms of volume with a double height at the heart of the visit route, as well as many places for conviviality and tasting , terraces or even private spaces.

As for the exterior appearance, it remains faithful to its original signature. The strong signal in the form of a press screw will be preserved, above a curved facade inspired by ammonite in reference to the constitution of the soils which today mark the quality and typicity of our wines. Visitors will be able to contemplate at an altitude of 13 meters an exceptional view of the Saône and part of the city.

On the planning side, finally, the administrative delays caused by the confinement having impacted the filing of the new building permit, the opening of the Cité in Mâcon is now planned for the spring of 2022.
