The overall cost of the project is provisionally estimated to be €19.5 million for the three sites:

€13.4m for Beaune
€3.9m for Mâcon
€2.2m for Chablis

The provisional budget covers construction, and interior fitting and design.

All regional, public and institutional authorities have come together to fully back the Cité des vins & des Climats de Bourgogne project.

Around 65% of the financing will come from the public purse. The Conseil Régional de Bourgogne Franche-Comté is playing a key role in driving the project, which fits perfectly within the framework of the new regional plan for tourism and leisure development 2017-2022.

Partner public bodies:

The Conseil Régional de Bourgogne Franche-Comté, the Conseil Départemental de la Côte-d’Or, the City of Beaune, the Communauté d’Agglomération Beaune Côte et Sud, the Pays Beaunois, the Conseil Départemental de l'Yonne, the Town of Chablis, the Conseil Départemental de Saône et Loire, the City of Mâcon, the Communauté d'agglomération - Mâconnais-Beaujolais Agglomération, the Pays Sud Bourgogne, the Communauté de Commune Mâconnais-Tournugeois, and the European Union.

The local wine industry will play a major role in the project.

The BIVB will be providing €3.5 million to the project, including €500,000 from the BIVB in Chablis. The Chablis wines union (FDAC) will be contributing €100,000 to the Cité des vins in Chablis.

The management of these three structures, handled by the Association Cité des vins et des Climats de Bourgogne Association, will ensure additional financing through sponsorship.
