MORE THAN JUST AN EXHIBITION, A VISITOR EXPERIENCE

THE HERITAGE OF THE BOURGOGNE WINEGROWING REGION AS GUIDING THREAD

Visitors will be able to discover all the riches of a great winegrowing region shaped by human hand: The patchwork of landscapes and terroirs, the individual Climats from which the wine is produced, work in the vines, the art of vinification, the subtlety and elegance of the wines themselves, and the cultural traditions and conviviality that surround them.

To allow an easy understanding of the complexity of the Bourgogne winegrowing region, the visitor experience will be structured around several major themes:

  • The Bourgogne region, its history, land, and traditions
  • The Climats: The unique model of terroir winegrowing found in the region
  • The women and men who shaped the vineyards and who bring the region to life
  • The values on which Bourgogne wine culture is based: Simplicity, humility, humanism, and the pleasure of hosting guests

The three sites will all adopt the same narrative approach to the Bourgogne heritage, seen through the prism of the people behind, specifically the winemaker.

A SENSORIAL AND INTERACTIVE VISITOR EXPERIENCE

The three sites of the Cité des vins & des Climats de Bourgogne have been conceived as an ensemble. But since their dimensions and visitor capacity differ, they will not offer the same visitor experience. In each Cité, the visitor will find fun, educational, and attractive elements, designed to meet the expectations of today’s generation of tourists.

The key messages about Bourgogne wines will be conveyed to visitors in a modern and lively manner. They will be structured as a visitor trail that will be adapted to the specificities of each sub-region.

In parallel, children can discover their own visitor experience, specially created for them on each of the sites.
