Managing the project
A project driven by the BIVB
The Cité des vins et des Climats de Bourgogne project provides a structure for the wine and tourism industries in the Bourgogne region. The idea came from the Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB), which will be driving the project. It was designed in cooperation with local authorities, the tourism trade, and the wine industry.
The city of Beaune is the commissioning body for the construction of the Cité des vins in Beaune, because it will be part of a wider renovation project. The city will be carrying out the work according to specifications drawn up in tandem with the BIVB. The BIVB will be charged with developing the content and promotion within the Cité des Vins, as well as operating the site.
The Cité des vins sites in Chablis and Mâcon will be driven by the BIVB for each phase of the project, from planning, through construction and fitting to operation.
The development of content relating to the Climats of the Bourgogne winegrowing region will be done in partnership with the Association for the Climats of the Bourgogne winegrowing region.
